Still crocheting…..

My goodness I’ve just realised how long it’s been since I last wrote a blog post! Shocking really but I’m afraid life just takes over with two very busy boys and with another on the way, one house move and a first year of school I’ve just not had a chance to keep you all updated with what I’ve been working on.

So what have I been up to? Well here’s just a few projects…

A fair few newborns are being cuddled in my granny square blankets and mini cardigans this year, along with some very natural and organic teething rings and teething necklaces. Also my very own dungaree design with a pompom bunny which I may share the pattern very soon right here.

 And….
So teacher gifts featured heavily this year and I opted to make a beautiful rose hearts for both school and preschool teachers. I also had a family member go through some horrid chemo treatment so I quickly hooked up a cotton hat and ear warmer for her. And one of the most recent makes (this week) is stickman, he’s a wee bit fiddly but look how cute he is!

So what now well I’m hoping to start providing some of my very own patterns on here but you may need to forgive my pregnancy brain within the writing! X

Crochet cluster coaster patternΒ

So I had a lovely surprise on Sunday I found that I was featured on crochet concupiscence’s blog written by the wonderful kathryn, it really was a wonderful surprise and I’m feeling a little proud.

Anyhoo I’ve had quite a few people ask about the pattern for the coasters featured so as I made up the pattern, which I did write down. I thought it would be nice to share as it’s the season of giving….

So for these particular coasters I used style craft cotton dk in dove & white with 4.5mm hook, but you could use any cotton really with the appropriate hook.

Pattern – uk terms

Special stitches

dtr (double treble) cluster –  *yarn over twice insert hook into stitch yarn over and pull through 2loops (leaving 3 loops on hook) yarn over and pull through 2 loops (leaving 2 loops) repeat from * again (leaving 3 loops on hook) repeat from *again (leaving 4 loops on hook) yarn over and pull through all 4 loops

dtr ( double treble) begining cluster – ch 4, *yarn over twice insert hook into stitch yarn over and pull through 2loops (leaving 3loops on hook) yarn over and pull through 2 loops (leaving 2 loops on hook) repeat from * again (leaving 3 loops on hook) yarn over and pull through all 3 loops

Tr (treble) cluster – yarn over insert hook into stitch yarn over and pull through 2loops (leaving 2 loops on hook) repeat from * again (leaving 3 loops on hook) repeat from *again (leaving 4 loops on hook) yarn over and pull through all 4 loops

Tr (treble) begining cluster – ch 3, *yarn over insert hook into space yarn over and pull through 2loops (leaving 2 loops on hook) repeat from * again (leaving 3 loops on hook) yarn over and pull through all 3 loops

Pattern

Start with a magic ring ch2, 12 tr stitches into the ring, pull the tail tight, sl st into 1st tr.

Round 1 – dtr beginning cluster, ch1, dtr cluster, ch 1 in each stitch in the round, sl st into top of first cluster.

Round 2 – tr beginning cluster into previous ch1 space from round 1, ch2, tr cluster in same space, tr cluster, ch2, tr cluster in the next ch1 from previous round, repeat till the end of the round, sl st into top of begining cluster.

Round 3 – dc in ch2 from previous round, 5 tr inbetween pairs of cluster, dc in ch2 repeat till end of round, sl st into first dc.

Faster off and sew in ends!

So please feel free to make and share and I would be ever so grateful for a tag or share here and there.

A busy few months | weddings…crochet…house buy…

Since my last post I don’t think I’ve actually had a chance to even think of blogging about anything!

We’ve had hen dos, and then weddings…my eldest started school in September (where does the time go! 😱)….we brought our second house which felt like it took forever (albeit I was very very impatient with the whole thing!) don’t worry though there has still been plenty of crochet!

In fact a few months ago I was a featured instagrammer on crochet concupiscence….if you follow me on instagram you may have notice I tag a lot of my photos with the hashtag #crochetconcupiscence

It was lovely and confidence boosting to be featured and it’s only this week now I’m on holiday how proud and thankful of this.

So what have I been up to….well I had a craft table at my local library which was fun to do

I’ve had my etsy shop updated which I’m still trying to understand but think I may be getting somewhere with it. And so to the festive season with a few local craft stalls I’ve booked hopefully the new year will be my year.

Anyway onwards and upwards I promise to have another post ready with all my Christmas makes soon. πŸŽ„πŸŽπŸŽ…πŸ»
